Note: Considering that Lawrence Quirk’s Norma biography got the birth date for Norma wrong, the photograph with her mother was probably taken around 1903 (not 1901, as Quirk mentioned in his book), when Norma was a year of age. However, there is a strong chance that might be Athole and mother Edith, if the picture is from 1901, notice the wide eyes on the child, but also notice Norma's narrow eyes in the 1905 picture. There is a chance that might indeed be Athole. Not many pictures of Norma from these years have survived the test of time.
